Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out after his angry reaction to defeat in a Saudi Pro League fixture on Thursday.
The Portuguese star lined up for Al Nassr against rivals Al Ittihad and despite a tight encounter, Ronaldo and co werebeaten 1-0and knocked off top spot in the table.
Ronaldos reaction to the defeat left a lot to be desired as he trudged off the pitch, ripping off his captains armband.
To make matters worse, he was then caught booting over a bunch of water bottles as teammates tried to console him.
Home fans targetedRonaldowith chants of Lionel Messi as Ronaldo headed for the tunnel before he turned round to applaud the travelling Al-Nassr fans.
A frustrated Ronaldo later took to Twitter to thank Al-Nassr fans for their support.
Disappointed with the result, but we stay focused on our season and the games ahead. Thank you Al Nassr fans for your support, we know we can count on you! the 38-year-old wrote.

Until Thursdays defeat, the Portuguese forward had been in scintillating form for his new side, scoring eight goals in five games to fire Al-Nassr to the top of the table.
But the defeat raises question marks over their title challenge with just four points separating the top three teams.
It has been a whirlwind season for Ronaldo who departedManchester Unitedin acrimonious circumstances last November, before a heart-breaking World Cup quarter-final exit with Portugal.
But the veteran forward could still end his campaign on a high should he leads Al Nassr to the Saudi title in May.
